Bluetti AC70 Error Codes and What to Do About Them

The Bluetti AC70 manual lists seventeen error codes with a fix for each, plus a catch-all: for any other code, contact BLUETTI support. The table covers inverter faults, the fan, solar overvoltage, temperature limits and grid faults.

Figures on this page are quoted from the official Bluetti AC70 user manual (EU/UK-spec edition), as read on 7 November 2026. Manuals are revised and firmware changes behaviour, so if your own unit's manual disagrees with this page, follow the manual.
  1. Inverter and output faults: E001, E002, E003, E004, E016
  2. Solar and DC faults: E033, E065, E068
  3. Temperature limits: E085, E086, E087, E088
  4. Grid faults: E113, E114, E115, E116, E117

Inverter and output faults: E001, E002, E003, E004, E016

E001, inverter overload: check whether your devices' power consumption is too high and reduce the load if necessary. E002, temperature protection: check whether any of your devices are overheating and allow them to cool down before use. E003, inverter short circuit: check whether any electrical device is causing a short circuit, then disconnect it and resolve the issue.

E004, output failure: the output voltage is abnormal, and Bluetti says to inspect the machine for malfunctions or irregularities. E016, fan failure: check whether the fan is blocked, unplugged or not functioning properly, and ensure proper ventilation.

The manual states the AC outlets are rated for appliances up to 1000W and says not to apply loads higher than 1000W, as this may cause damage to the AC70 and your devices.

Solar and DC faults: E033, E065, E068

E033, PV overvoltage: make sure the PV input voltage is within the range of 12V-58VDC. The manual also says not to use solar panels with an open-circuit voltage higher than 58V.

E065, cigarette lighter output short circuit: check whether your devices' power consumption is too high and reduce the load if necessary. E068, cigarette lighter output overtemperature: wait for the device connected to the cigarette lighter port to cool down.

Temperature limits: E085, E086, E087, E088

E085, charging temperature too high: wait for the unit to cool down before charging. E086, charging temperature too low: make sure the unit is placed in an ambient temperature of 0°C-40°C (32°F-104°F). E087, discharging temperature too high: wait for the unit to cool down before discharging.

E088, discharging temperature too low: this manual says to make sure the unit is in an ambient temperature of 0°C-40°C (32°F-104°F). Note that other Bluetti models' manuals give a wider discharging range, so use the figure in your own AC70 manual.

Grid faults: E113, E114, E115, E116, E117

E113 and E114, grid overvoltage and undervoltage: check whether the grid voltage is too high or too low, and contact your local power provider if necessary. E115 and E116, grid overfrequency and underfrequency: check whether the grid frequency is too high or too low, and contact your local power provider if necessary.

E117, grid oscillation: disconnect the grid input and contact BLUETTI support for further assistance. For any code not listed, contact BLUETTI support.

FAQ

What does E033 mean on the Bluetti AC70?

PV overvoltage. The manual's fix is to make sure the PV input voltage is within 12V-58VDC.

What do I do about E117?

It is a grid oscillation fault. Bluetti says to disconnect the grid input and contact BLUETTI support for further assistance.

Is the AC70 error list the same as other Bluetti models?

Not exactly. The codes overlap, but the fixes and temperature ranges differ by model, so use the table in your own unit's manual.

Other Things That Go Wrong

Symptoms overlap more than they look like they do — a unit that shuts down under load and one that never reaches 100% often trace back to the same limit. The rest of the troubleshooting set:
