How the Rankings Work

Use-case rankings weight capacity, output, surge headroom and price differently for each situation, and rule a unit out entirely where a requirement is not met — an unconfirmed inverter type counts as a failure for medical and motor loads, not as an unknown. Appliance rankings carry no score at all: a unit must clear every pass/fail gate, and what clears them is ordered by longest runtime at that appliance's load, then lowest price.
