EcoFlow DELTA 2 Not Charging From Solar: Input Limits and Fixes

The EcoFlow DELTA 2 manual lists its solar charging input as 11-60V, 15A maximum and 500W maximum, and warns that the solar panel's output voltage must be within 60V to avoid product damage. Most failed solar hookups on this model come down to those numbers.

  1. Check panel voltage against 60V
  2. Remember the 500W ceiling
  3. Check the temperature
  4. Do not leave it empty for months
Work through these in order — each step rules out a cause before the next one.

Step 1: Check panel voltage against 60V

Before connecting the solar panel, the manual says to make sure its output voltage is within 60V to avoid product damage, and EcoFlow accepts no responsibility for damage from failing to follow the instructions. The specifications give the solar charging range as 11-60V at 15A maximum.

Series wiring adds voltage. That is general electrical behaviour, not an EcoFlow statement, but it is why two panels that each work alone can exceed the limit together: check the combined figure.

Step 2: Remember the 500W ceiling

Solar charging is rated 500W maximum. More panels will not raise it. A common mistake is to size an array for a higher figure and expect proportionally faster charging; beyond 500W the extra panels add nothing.

Real output sits below rated watts. This site's own planning figure is roughly 70% of a panel's rating in good direct sun, which is an estimate and not an EcoFlow number; the solar charge time calculator uses it.

Step 3: Check the temperature

The specifications give a charging temperature of 0°C to 45°C (32°F to 113°F), with an optimal operating range of 20°C to 30°C (68°F to 86°F). A unit in a cold vehicle or a hot garage can be outside the range charging is allowed in.

For storage, the manual gives -10°C to 45°C, with a recommended 0°C to 30°C.

Step 4: Do not leave it empty for months

The manual's storage advice is to charge and discharge the product once every 3 months, fully charging and then discharging to 60% for storage. It also says not to leave the device uncharged or unused for more than 6 months, or the warranty will be void.

Charging from the wall first is the simplest way to rule out a deeply discharged battery before you blame the panels. That is our suggestion, not an EcoFlow instruction.

FAQ

What is the maximum solar input on the EcoFlow DELTA 2?

The manual lists 500W maximum, in the range 11-60V at up to 15A.

Can I connect more than 500W of panels?

You can, as long as the voltage stays within 60V, but the unit will not accept more than 500W, so the extra panels add nothing.

Why does it not charge in winter?

The manual gives a charging temperature of 0°C to 45°C. A unit colder than that is outside its specified charging range, which is a common reason solar looks dead on a winter morning.

Symptoms overlap more than they look like they do — a unit that shuts down under load and one that never reaches 100% often trace back to the same limit. The rest of the troubleshooting set:
