Bluetti Elite 100 V2 Won't Turn On: What to Check First

A Bluetti Elite 100 V2 that will not turn on has most often been run flat. The manual has specific rules for that case: after the charge level hits 0, power the unit off and charge it for at least 30 minutes before restarting, and if it ran flat in storage, charge it within 48 hours and let it sit at 5°C to 35°C first.

Figures on this page are quoted from the official Bluetti Elite 100 V2 user manual (V2.1), as read on 5 November 2026. Manuals are revised and firmware changes behaviour, so if your own unit's manual disagrees with this page, follow the manual.
  1. Use the power button the way the manual describes
  2. Treat 0% as a special case
  3. Check the temperature
  4. Update the firmware once it is running
Work through these in order — each step rules out a cause before the next one.

Step 1: Use the power button the way the manual describes

To power on, press the power button; a lit button indicates the unit is on standby. To power off, long press the power button for about 2 seconds. Once the unit is on, pressing any button wakes the LCD.

AC and DC outputs are separate: with the unit on, press the AC power button and the DC power button to switch each output. A unit that is on but has no output may be in ECO mode rather than off; see our guide to Bluetti Elite 100 V2 output problems.

Step 2: Treat 0% as a special case

The manual says to recharge in time if the charge level falls below 5%. If it drops to 0, power off the unit and charge it for at least 30 minutes before restarting it.

If the charge level reached 0 during storage or at startup, the manual's instructions are: shut down immediately, charge within 48 hours, and keep the unit at 5°C to 35°C (41°F to 95°F) for 6 hours before charging. It recommends charging from an AC source, and if you use solar, making sure the input is over 100W.

Step 3: Check the temperature

The specifications list a charging temperature of 0°C to 40°C (32°F to 104°F) and a discharging temperature of -20°C to 40°C (-4°F to 104°F). A unit that has been in a cold car or a hot garage may refuse to charge or discharge until it returns to those ranges.

Bring it indoors, leave it unplugged for a few hours, then try again. Keep that within the 5°C to 35°C window the manual gives for a unit that has been flat.

Step 4: Update the firmware once it is running

The manual's opening notes say that, for optimal performance, you should update the unit to the latest firmware before first use, using the BLUETTI app.

Our check of the Elite 100 V2 manual's own troubleshooting table was not complete, so this guide does not list further fault codes for this model. If none of the steps above brings it back, contact BLUETTI support.

How long should I charge it before turning it on?

The manual says to charge for at least 30 minutes before restarting after the charge level drops to 0.

Is it safe to store it empty?
