EcoFlow DELTA 2 Won't Stay On: The Standby Timer Explained
An EcoFlow DELTA 2 that switches itself off is often doing exactly what its manual says. The product defaults to 2 hours of standby: with the output power buttons turned off and no load for 2 hours, it shuts off automatically. The standby time can be changed in the EcoFlow app.

- Check the standby timer first
- Know what the USB button does
- Use the correct power on, off and screen sequence
- Check temperature and overload warnings
Step 1: Check the standby timer first
The manual states that the product defaults to 2 hours of standby time, and that with the output power buttons turned off and no load for 2 hours the product shuts off automatically. You can set the standby time in the EcoFlow app. When you start using the product again, the LCD screen turns on automatically.
If the unit only goes off when nothing is plugged in and the output buttons are off, that is the documented behaviour; lengthen the standby time in the app.
Step 2: Know what the USB button does
The manual says that after the USB Power Button is turned on, the product will not shut off automatically. A unit with its USB output switched on will therefore stay powered, while one with all outputs off will time out. USB-C ports are rated 100W and USB-A ports 12W, or 18W fast charge.
Make sure the total power of all loaded devices is lower than the rated power, as the manual says.
Step 3: Use the correct power on, off and screen sequence
To power on, press the main button once. To power off, long press for 3 seconds. After the product is on, pressing the main button once turns the LCD screen on or off, which is not the same as turning the unit off.
A dark screen with the unit running is therefore normal after the screen timeout.
Step 4: Check temperature and overload warnings
The manual's display list includes battery failure, high temperature, low temperature and overload warnings. Its specifications give a discharging temperature of -10°C to 45°C (14°F to 113°F), a charging temperature of 0°C to 45°C (32°F to 113°F), and an optimal operating temperature of 20°C to 30°C (68°F to 86°F).
If a warning icon is showing, the unit is protecting itself; address the load or the temperature rather than the timer.

FAQ
Why does my EcoFlow DELTA 2 turn off with nothing plugged in?
Its default standby time is 2 hours. With the output buttons off and no load for that long it shuts off automatically; the manual says you can change the standby time in the EcoFlow app.
How do I stop it shutting down?
Lengthen the standby time in the app, or keep the USB output switched on. The manual says the product will not shut off automatically once the USB Power Button is on.
Is a blank screen a fault?
Not necessarily. Pressing the main power button once turns the LCD on or off after the unit is running, and the screen turns itself back on when you start using the product.
